Ephesians 4:11-12 says, “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”
Let’s start with a question: When the military sends a soldier into battle, they send them with the means to accomplish the mission and protect themselves, correct? Yes. It would make no sense for a soldier to be sent to battle with nothing to accomplish the mission or defend himself from harm. Guess what? The same goes for Christianity. When Jesus gave the great commission in Matt. 28:19-20, He didn’t send His soldiers into battle without the means to complete the mission. He gave us each talents to use in order to benefit and strengthen His kingdom. In some He made teachers. In others, He made evangelists or laborers. But, one thing is for certain, we are all equipped for the work that His kingdom demands. Today, find what He equipped you with and use it for it’s intended purpose. What’s the purpose? Saving souls from peril.
