It’s Romans Week! This week on the program, we are going to be taking a look at seven verses, along with seven lessons, from the book of Romans.
Romans 6:22 says, “But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting Life.”
How were we set free from sin and, in turn, inherited eternal life? By becoming slaves to God. Ok, what does that mean? When Jesus died on a wooden cross for the sins of humanity, a cross meant for humanity, that was a great burden to bear spiritually, physically, and emotionally. Yet, because of His death, we have life. So, Jesus gave it all for us, so we could receive eternal life, and he received nothing? Yes. Ok, how are we to repay His sacrifice? By making a sacrifice of our own. According to Romans 12:1, we are to make our bodies a living sacrifice to God. Everyday we live our lives as Christians, we are to repay him by the life we live. Obviously, we could never repay Jesus for the act He committed, but we can live our lives as a sacrifice to Him. Which, in turn, will bring others to Him. Today, are you fulfilling your part of the sacrifice?
