Honesty equals accuracy. It is said that accuracy is the twin brother of honesty, while inaccuracy is the twin brother of dishonesty. A lot of times, it is easy to be accurate with others, or honest with others. We can help them search for spiritual flaws and overcome those spiritual flaws. But, the same does not always apply to ourselves. Are you accurate or inaccurate with yourself? Most are inaccurate. Instead of finding our flaws, we push them to the side, denying or deflecting their existence. Everybody knows, it is not always easy to be honest with yourself. Because, in being honest with yourself, you might hear some things you don’t want to hear. In order to be accurate in the eyes of God, we must be honest with our inward selves, so we can be renewed day by day through Him. Today, begin to look inward rather than outward, searching for your flaws, before you search for the flaws in others. In the end, it will do you some good.
“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.” – 2 Corinthians 4:16 (ESV)
