Hebrews 13:5 says, “Keep your life free from the love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you, nor forsake you.” (NKJV)
It is so easy to follow the path of greed and chase after money and possessions. It is so easy to never be content, constantly striving after more and more earthly greed. But, what does Paul say in this verse? Keep your life free from those things and be content. It’s a fact: You cannot find happiness in earthly possessions. While it might seem fulfilling to chase after more money and possessions, money and possessions will never fulfill your soul, only God can do that. Money and possessions are temporary, they are bound to this Earth and, once we leave this temporary home, they will no longer hold value. Today, strive after godliness, rather than earthly greed. Because, from Godliness comes great gain and contentment (1 Tim. 6:6).
