Today, I’m thankful for…
1.) My Earthly Family, the support group that inspires and uplifts me daily. When I think of the abundant blessings of God, I think of my family first. I’m thankful that I have a family that is God-fearing, who worship and pray to God regularly (Acts 10:2). I pray that my family continues to adhere to these truths.
2.) My Spiritual Family, who support, encourage, and inspire me with the love they possess for God and His word. I’m thankful that my Church family stir up one another with love and good works, while encouraging one another ceaselessly ( 10:24-25). I pray that our spiritual family will continue to grow, while remaining committed to the word of God.
3.) Religious Freedom, which allows me to worship God without any restrictions. When I go to worship God, I know that I can do so without a fear of persecution. I’m thankful that, through religious freedom, I can pray without ceasing (1 Thes. 5:17). I pray that our country continues to hold steadfast to the religious liberties that we enjoy through our freedoms.
4.) Worship, which allows me to praise God through song, prayer, and supplication. I’m thankful that I can worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24) and give Him the glory that He deserves. After all, worship is for God, not for us. I pray that, while worshipping God, we hold firm to the mantra, “I can’t wait to worship God!”, rather than, “I have to go worship God.”
5.) Happiness, which is found in God, not man. I’m thankful that we can find happiness in the value that God places upon us. He cares about us so much, that He knows the number of hairs upon our head (Luke 12:7). I pray that we can find happiness through God-Esteem rather than attempting to find happiness through our own self-esteem (exc. Eric Owens).
Today, what are you thankful for?
